CAT CARE

Kitty Information

KITTENS START OUT BEING BORN AND RAISED IN OUR BEDROOM

I lay rubbing their bellies & singing songs to the expecting mothers every night during the last week of pregnancy with anticipation feeling the kittens kicking inside them,  (We enjoy when the expecting moms come to us rolling on their tummy asking us for loving attention.)

We spend a great deal of time with the kittens while they grow, learn and mature, they are with us involved every day,  we enjoy getting to know each individual purrsonality, which makes me love them even more so ensuring that our kittens are going to a loving home is of the up most importance to us, this is why there is not a pay pal button for your deposit.. We want to talk with you, know a bit about you and your family so in our hearts we know our kitty's are going to a good home where they are loved and cherished.

     HAPPINESS!!
We love living in our cats home. Our Persian and Himalayan kittens are raised in our loving home as family with our dogs this ensures your kitten is use to being cuddled, brushed, picked up, and everyday noises like barking, music, vacuuming, banging of pots and pans, running, playing, and laughing throughout our home, nothing will phase your kitten.

GROOMING

Our Persian cats comes with the thick fur coats that tends to matt easily. Be sure to groom your Persian cat everyday including cleaning their eyes.

When grooming your kitten the best comb I have found is from Sallys beauty supply,  I will give you one in your gift bag.

Once your kitten has become a cat it is best to have both a comb and a cheap plastic bristle brush I call the "feel good brush"
Make sure the comb has its prongs at least 1/4 of an inch apart so it does not pull the fur and hurt the skin when combing them if the prongs are real close together it can be uncomfortable for a full cotton coated Persian. It is also important to have the prongs on the comb be the same length as the fur, so with kittens the prongs can be much shorter than when your Persian is grown with a nice long full coat.. If you desire a bit more peaceful grooming time after combing for a bit, go ahead and switch to the feel good brush its like a good back scratch for them.. for those with an impatient kitty I suggest grooming time to be in a small space like a bathroom and closing the door. you will find them much more relaxing for them.  If you come across a mat hold the skin between your fore finger and thumb at the base of the mat while pulling and working it out with the comb from the tip of the fur down towards your fingers at the base of the skin.. If it is a large mat that is thick like a pillow, use your tiny cat nail clippers sold at any pet store to cut into the mat, do not cut the mat near the skin but the opposite side. make 3 little cuts like it has toes, it will then be easier to pull apart and won't leave a bare spot on your kitty. When you work any mat out do your kitty a favor and massage the area to help it feel better. like your reaction to rub your head when you get your hair pulled.

BATHING YOUR PERSIAN CAT

Only bathe your Persian cat if they are greasy or have a flea problem.

Please remember to take out any matts your Persian cat has before giving them a bath, if you do not comb through the matt prior it will create a large matt.

HEALTH GUARANTEE

All our cats/kittens are guaranteed to come to you without health problems. We offer a standard 1 year health guarantee although if you choose to continue offering the same vitamins we offer you will be given a 3 year health guarantee on your chosen kitten. Kittens are happy, well adjusted, free from having fungus, feline leukemia, parasites, genetic defects.

All our breeders are tested through UC Davis cat testing for Pkd (polycystic kidney disease)

You can put all your worries aside when purchasing a kitten from us. You shouldn't have to worry about the health of your new found friend,

We highly encourage anyone purchasing a Persian or Himalayan with peek show face in its lineage to have them tested for polycystic kidney disease which was created as a result of line breeding done by the show world to create the flat face you find in today's Persian type. If one of the parents have PKD there is a 50/50 % chance it is passed onto their kittens.. This test is not done by most veterinarian's its done by https://vgl.ucdavis.edu/sample-collection/cat it's an easy test that is done by a Q-tip swab to the inside of the cheek then taping the Q-tip to a form that is printed off their site, then Just send it in, the results are back within 1-2 weeks.

TO PREVENT FLEAS

We use Revolution prescribed by our vet on all our animals

We also spray Essential oils on our furniture and cat posts to combat against fleas. Clove oil * Lemongrass oil * peppermint oil * Thyme oil * cinnamon oil. During high flea season we also use BORAX which can be found at any grocery store or Walmart in the laundry department its a fine white powder that can be sprinkled on your furniture it is totally non-toxic and completely dries fleas out.

TO PREVENT RINGWORM

We keep our home and litter boxes clean, and our furniture and cat furniture is sprayed with eucalyptus, thyme, geranium, lavender, myrrh, & purification, essential oils these oils combat against fungus. We have had more than a few clients talk about how they had received a Persian from a known cattery that came to them with ringworm which is a fungus not a worm, it is highly contagious to humans and other pets.
